Here is a transcription/arrangement from Louis Armstrong's Hot Seven ca. 1927.  The tune is Melancholy Blues.

The instrumentation is as follows:

  • Clarinet
  • 1st Trumpet
  • 2nd Trumpet
  • Trombone
  • Piano
  • Banjo/Guitar (one part)
  • Bass/Tuba
  • Drums

This chart features wonderful ensemble parts which are completely written out except the clarinet part which is mostly ensemble ad lib. The trombone part is an arranged part (not transcribed note for note from the original recording). The solos are ad lib with chord changes provided except Armstrong amazing 32 bar solo which is noted note for note!
