Here is a transcription of King Olivers Jazz Band ca.1923. The tune is called Camp Meeting Blues.

The instrumentation is as follows:

  • Clarinet
  • 1st Trumpet
  • 2nd Trumpet
  • Trombone
  • Piano
  • Banjo/Guitar (one part)
  • Bass/Tuba
  • Drums
  • Score

This chart features wonderful clarinet breaks as well as a 12 bar solo and a trombone solo (also 12 bars) all completely written out! All the ensemble sections in this chart are completely written out including the clarinet part which does have chord changes written above the ensemble sections just in case you have a clarinet player who likes to improvise (but it's not necessary).

This chart’s level of difficulty is rated: Easy. This rating means the tempo, key, and instrumental range is manageable for most musicians. It is great for beginners to trad jazz.
